The founder

Timothy Highnam spent years running ads and building websites for businesses of every kind, and building, then selling, a marketing agency along the way. The websites his team built have driven more than $60 million in revenue for the businesses running on them.

Somewhere in those years a pattern became impossible to ignore. The businesses that grew fastest were rarely the best at their craft. They were the best at being found, trusted, and chosen. Meanwhile, exceptional tradespeople, booked solid on word of mouth, invisible on Google, were leaving their growth to luck.

Grow Your Trade is his answer: take everything that works at the top of the marketing game and run it for the trade that keeps every home’s lights on. One trade, done deeply, instead of every industry done shallowly. Every design that leaves this company still crosses his desk.

The origin of the method

Marketing is an art and a science. Owners were only ever sold the art.

Big consumer brands A/B test everything. They know which headline wins, which page converts, which channel pays back, because they can afford to run thousands of experiments. A local electrical contractor gets none of that. They get a nephew’s website, a boosted Facebook post, and an agency invoice with no numbers attached.

The Local Dominance Method was built to close that gap. Because we run websites, search, ads, and attribution for electricians across the US and UK, every client’s site contributes to, and benefits from, one shared body of evidence. When something wins anywhere in the network, it rolls out everywhere it fits. AI lets us run that loop at a scale a single business never could.

The art still matters, and we’re good at it. The science is what was missing. Now our clients get both.

We serve electricians and the trades around them. Knowing one customer deeply is worth more than knowing every industry a little.

Where we’re going

The plan is bigger than websites. Every year, more of an electrical business’s office work, quoting, scheduling, follow-up, review requests, can be automated around tools like Jobber and ServiceTitan. Our automation service is the start of that. The destination is a trade business that runs on a system, with the owner on the tools or on the beach, not buried in admin.
